Artist Graham Hudson's Rehearsal at the Astoria opened last week at Arthouse at the Jones Center with a bang. This is Hudson's first solo institutional exhibition in the U.S. The exhibition features an enormous installation created especially for Arthouse’s main gallery which aims to collapse time and space and connect London’s past with Austin’s present through a multi-layered sculptural and musical experience.
The March Music issue has arrived! This marks TRIBEZA's 10th Anniversary edition, so it was the perfect time to refresh our look with a full redesign, new pages and more. Who better to start the next decade with than our favorite outlaw Willie Nelson? I had the chance to sit down with the man himself before his show at ACL Live.
Over the past five years, Austinites have come to Birds Barbershop for affordable, yet high-quality salon services. Creators Michael Portman and Jayson Rapaport have revolutionized the beauty industry with their walk-in, rock-out philosophy that has earned Birds Barbershop a place among America’s top 100 salons for the past three years, according to Elle magazine.
It's not often that our editorial team gets to all go out together with constant deadlines and hectic schedules, so when we do get the chance to hit the town we make the most of it. Last Thursday, I ventured out with our superstar designer Avalon McKenzie (pictured right) and the always lively editorial assistant + events coordinator, Carolyn Harrold.
We are in the midst of getting our March Music issue (which also marks TRIBEZA's 10-Year Anniversary) to the printer, but we had to take a moment to celebrate the day of love by reflecting on our childhood crushes—the fantasies that kept us company in our lonely heart teen years when finding love seemed like it might never happen. Long before Justin Bieber was born or Finn Hudson serenaded on Glee, we had our own crushes. I asked a few friends to share their personal favorites.
People watching off the runway was just as fun as scoping all the models on the catwalk. Here are a few of our favorites looks of the night. TRIBEZA's Carolyn Harrold will share her thoughts and photos from the runway later this week.
This duo (above) complimented each other in rich winter browns, a popular color of the night (below).

The first Pecha Kucha of 2011 is coming on February 10 at 8:20pm! The lineup is amazing, and we particulary love the poster for the event, which was specially created by DJ Stout. We will definitely be at the Austin Speed Shop (1414 S. Lamar Blvd). Doors open at 7:30pm. Lineup:
Hopefully, you are one of the lucky 1,700 people who got to catch Jason Neulander's The Intergalactic Nemesis at the Long Center last month. The good news is that there is sequel to this popular live-action graphic novel already in the works. We asked this devoted dad to share his perfect Austin day.
Remember Jeremy (Wallflower Management) from all of our advertisements for TRIBEZA Style Week 2010 (photographed above by the amazing Richard Krall he also walked the runway at the show at the Bob Bullock). Well, I was just browsing Style.com and noticed that he is making it big in Paris, walking for Givenchy during Paris Fashion Week...oh la la!
Like his new blonde 'do?
