This Saturday: OF A KIND + MADEWELL

By Emma Banks

Denim on denim: lately we’ve been seriously loving this look, and no one does it better than Madewell. Our favorite fashion connoisseur is teaming up with the emerging designer eCommerce site Of A Kind this Saturday, March 8, for an afternoon pop-up sale at the Domain (11501 Century Oaks Terrace).

Of A Kind co-founders Claire Mazur and Erica Cerulo will be on hand along with micheladas, snacks, music, and a few more sweet treats. Bring your friends and your wallet−this is something to splurge on.

Going Live, with Lost Pines Resort & Spa

By Emma Banks

Austin is no stranger to great live music—duh. But try live music every night of the week, at the same venue, nestled in the vast, raw beauty that is Bastrop’s Loblolly Pine forest. That’s something we would love to hear more about.

The Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort & Spa has launched what might be the most exciting musical prospect of the Spring—an updated music series that boasts a new musician nightly, with calendars available here for the months of March and April.

Everything's Leather at Sister Coffee + Fortuna Monsoon Workshop

By Emma Banks

It’s time to reward your furry friend with more than just a trip to the dog park. Stumped? We’ve got the perfect solution for cats & dogs alike: Everything’s Leather Collar Workshop, a two-hour lesson hosted by Sister Coffee on crafting that perfect leather accessory.

The workshop will be held on Sunday, March 23 and led by Chris Franks of Fortuna Monsoon, a leather craftsman who sells his goods at Wheatsville, Windmill Bicycles, and Las Cruxes. He’ll teach you the basics: burnishing leather, stamping, tooling, and setting hardware. There will also be beer, cocktails, and coffee.

Celebrating all things visual with the Blanton Museum's old school viewfinders

Look what's in our office today!

Last year, the Blanton Museum launched a new brand in conjunction with its 50th Anniversary, which will deliver "thought-provoking, visually arresting, and personally moving experiences with art" within the community. Embodying the tactile experience art creates, these custom viewfinders are planted around the city, ready to be discovered. Anyone curious enough to look inside can Tweet or Instagram an image of the viewfinders with the hashtag #curiositywelcome to receive free admission to the museum. Start getting curious!

Club One Concierge: Your Right-Hand Man (Or Woman)

By Emma Banks

Shan Davis knows what it’s like to be a successful (and potentially overwhelmed) businesswoman. She’s made it to the top, traveled the world, and called the shots. And now she’s working to make that lifestyle all the more doable for everyone else.

Meet Club One Concierge, Davis’ brainchild, a lifestyle management company that has set out to simplify the tasks of the soccer mom, the CEO, and everyone in between. Davis answered a few of our questions on what it’s like to own a business and what Club One can do for you.

1. What inspired you to start Club One Concierge?

El Cubico: Catering via Taco Truck

By Emma Banks

Get ready to dine in style, on the go. Sound like an oxymoron? It was, until recently. La Condesa is breaking into the food truck fad with their latest innovation called El Cubico, a catering service via taco truck. El Cubico arrived on the scene with an ultra cool launch party at Springdale Farm in January, but if you missed it, no worries. They’re up and running and ready to help host your next gathering with some truly delicious food.

It might just be the perfect combination of elegance and Mexican food, serving up fresh, tasty bites like shrimp, pollo and carnitas tacos, classic chips and guacamole, and churros & coffee to finish the night.

Austin, You Have My Heart: V-day Happenings Around Town

By Emma Banks

Valentine’s Day might be a made-up holiday for the sake of flower and chocolate companies, but let’s be honest, who doesn’t love flowers & chocolate? With that in mind, we made a short list of some sweet spots for you and yours’ special day. And remember, make reservations; no one wants a date night reminiscent of the line outside Hopdoddy.

One Cran Cosmo, Please: Taste-Testing with Deep Eddy Vodka's New Flavor

By Emma Banks

Deep Eddy’s is notorious for making great-tasting, fast-selling vodka, and once again, they didn’t disappoint. Their latest creation? Cranberry Vodka, nicknamed Cran, infused with real cranberries, “harvested from the finest New England cranberry farms.” As always, it’s gluten-free and handcrafted in small batches right here in their Austin distillery.

We found some fun, simple recipes to try out when Cran hits the shelves.
