Serendipity Wine
La Sombra Chilean Wine & Dinner Pairings by Autumn Ashley
Known for serving up inspired Central and South American dishes, La Sombra Bar & Grill on Burnet recently invited guests to explore the "Mystical Wines of Chile" at a Chilean Wine and Dinner Pairing benefitting the Wine and Food Foundation. La Sombra's talented Peruvian-born chef, Julio-Cesar Florez, created a delicious six-course dinner which was paired with the wines of Chile's Viña Tabali in the Limari Valley. The menu was certainly exotic and creative featuring dishes such as smoked and pan-seared salmon, foie gras au torchon and peppered hangar steak. Wine selections ranged from reserve Chardonnays and Pinots to a Late-Harvest Muscat with dessert.

Oh, Valentine's Day. That holiday that makes all single people cringe. But not this year, thanks to a stroke of genius by Jodi Frizzel (left) and Emily Lowe (right) of Drunk Dial—the infamous web-based live-streaming call-in advice show. In honor of V-Day, these ladies put together a Mystery Match Up that had all of the East Side begging for a date.
