Handsome Coffee Roasters joined Billy Reid for a delectable evening on Sixth Street. Guests flocked to the boutique to enjoy food by Contigo, cocktails by WeatherUp and a performance by The Heartless Bastards. Proceeds benefited Project LOOP, a nonprofit organization that offers children access to the local creative community.
Austinites headed to Nannie Inez to celebrate the holiday season and The Wellgro Co’s mission to build a school garden at Travis High. Guests enjoyed memorable photos with Smilebooth, decadent sweets by Bake Sale and bites by Fresa’s Chicken al Carbon, while exploring a charming collection of gifts by Nannie Inez, Byrd + Blair and Keith Kreeger.
Austinites came dressed in their 1960s best for Public School and Good Works PR’s vintage-themed Christmas party. In addition to a sprawling photo booth built especially for the evening, guests savored drinks by Deep Eddy Vodka and supported Hermanos De East Austin’s Festival of Love, which provides Christmas dinners and toys to hundreds of East Austin families.
We celebrated the release of our December People Issue with an evening at Brazos Hall, presented by Capital Wings. Guests mingled with our inspiring 10 Austinites of the Year and 10 up-and-comers to watch, savoring food by Becca Schafer Events and drinks by Deep Eddy Vodka and Spicewood Vineyards.
Austin Chronicle writer and designer Stephen Moser debuted his stunning Fall 2012-2013 collection at the Driskill Hotel with a two-part runway presentation, which also featured looks by Tina Johnson, Gail Chovan and Roosevelt Cevallo. Following a cocktail reception, the runway was a strong tribute to Austin’s fashion community.
We headed east for the release of our November Makers issue at Okay Mountain Gallery. Austin’s creative scene celebrated the city’s artistry and craftsmanship with drinks from Pacifico and Victoria, provided by Crown Imports, and Maker’s Mark. Dock and Roll, the award-winning South Austin food trailer, whipped up delicious lobster rolls for the evening, and GoodPop passed out their tasty pops.
Design enthusiasts toasted to the launch of Blink.is, an innovative approach to interior design, at On-Airstreaming in the 2nd Street District. Live music by Graham Wilkinson provided an inspiring backdrop for the evening, as guests sampled cuisine from Olive & June and learned more about Blink.is’ unique and affordable design services.
The KUT Public Media Studios at The Belo Center for New Media opened its doors to the community, unveiling the visually stunning KUT donor wall. Guests were invited to record thank-you messages, while The Gourds and Bob Schneider performed throughout the evening, inaugurating the state-of-the-art facility.
