It was once again the holiday soiree of the year at the home of the always gracious hosts Carla and Jack McDonald. This year’s theme was all about the Pink Panther a la the 1960s. Stepping back in time began as guests entered the doors where they were greeted by a “French butler” who offered them fake cigarettes while a “French maid” took their coats and served French 75s and classic martinis. Live music was performed by Joe Morales and Mac Bynum, and guests also mingled over a party playlist featuring Henry Mancini and Jean- Yves Thebaut. Word of Mouth Catering created a menu of 60s favorites like flambés, food topiaries and vintage molds — every detail was flawless. Carla, who planned and conceived the soiree herself, was an ever elegant hostess in her fuchsia chiffon Oscar de la Renta gown. Partygoers didn’t leave without a “pawty favor” — pink macarons with pink filling from La Patisserie.
