Sara Mizener & Bob Lenhart
Married June 25, 2011

For years, Sara Mizener, a high school teacher, had her eye on Bob Lenhart, a casual friend of hers, but it wasn’t until they were at a Cubs game in 2007 that she worked up the courage to tell a mutual friend about her crush. Turned out that Bob, an IBM consultant, liked her back. The two dated until 2010, when a staycation in Chicago (where they live) led to a marriage proposal. “He was freaking out, so I knew there was something going on. Of course, I was freaking out too,” Sara remembers.

After a yearlong engagement, the two said their “I dos” at the Vista West Ranch on June 25, 2011. Charter buses picked up the guests from their hotels (95 percent of them didn't hail from Texas), where a Latin-themed wedding awaited their arrival. Guests shook their maracas (with “Shake responsibly!” labels attached) when the couple smooched, and stayed cool with refreshing watermelon mojitos and delicious ceviche during the cocktail hour. A churro bar, provided by Royal Fig, took the place of a traditional wedding cake. Even after a spectacular night of dancing in her seafoam green shoes to the trumpet tunes of a traditional mariachi band, Sara still looked fresh and lovely in her tiered mermaid gown by the Spanish designer Pronovias. And she stayed true to her Latin-themed wedding by spending her honeymoon with Bob in Buenos Aires during the month of December, thoroughly enjoying every bit of the same sunshine that brightened her wedding day.
