Owner, Blue Bridal Boutique

Ruthie Evans Broughton is living her dream as owner of Blue Bridal Boutique, located at 1007 South Congress. Broughton’s goal is to make the boutique experience affordable for any bride on a budget. After five years of running her own event planning business, Blue Box Events, she realized that what she truly loved was helping her clients find the perfect dress. With help from her husband, Ben, the couple took a risk and opened Blue Bridal Boutique last fall. “Being a teacher myself and from my own wedding experience, I wanted to create a bridal boutique that everyone could afford,” Broughton says. Carrying both bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses ranging from $500 to $2,500, Broughton proves that affordability doesn’t forgo style. However, before saying yes to the dress, she and her team create a tailored experience for each bride-to-be. After establishing a budget, Broughton gives her clients three like cards and one love card for them to tag their gowns of choice. “We are big on customer service and creating a great experience that is just fun,” she says. And as for something blue? A small blue bumblebee is hand-sewn into the lining of each gown. It’s a little reminder for both Broughton and her brides that the first step to a new beginning is taking flight.
