Monday Survival Guide: 10th Annual Tour de Vin Celebration by Paige Turner

The Wine and Food Foundation of Texas celebrates its 10th year of the ever-fabulous Tour de Vin on Friday, August 24.
Join the many wine lovers of the greater Austin area at the W for a round-the-world tour of 15-20 wineries presenting samplings of the world's best libation. Guests will enjoy innovative dishes from Kenichi, Swift's Attic and Trace while indulging in desserts from Barley Swine and Delysia Chocolates.
The night will also include cultural entertainment that will be sure to transport you to the world's most exotic and beautiful places. To stay true to the globetrotting theme, four "excursions" will be offered during the evening, each with its own Gusto Tastings Sommelier to guide you on your culinary adventure. Before you end the trip, check out the silent auction featuring delectable wines, packages and foodie favorites for a souvenir.
The Tour de Vin has proven to be a favorite among local wine connoisseurs. "I think the Tour is a very "Austin" and unique event," says Cathleen Berdan, event director. " People love it. It's become one of our signature events over the years. I'm excited for this year's event, which is our biggest yet."
Proceeds from the event will go to the Foundation's continued efforts in promoting the excellence of food and wine through public events, scholarships, grants and education.
Tickets are $60 for Foundation members and $80 for the general public. Check the website for more information. Prepare to have a full passport after attending this delicious odyssey. Trust us, this is a trip you don't want to miss.
