Roll On Sushi Lovers! by Autumn Ashley
Although Austin already boasts some pretty enticing sushi spots, there is always room for another in this ever-growing town full of foodies, especially one as unique as Roll On Sushi Diner, which brings a new sushi concept to the city. A novel yet simple idea, Roll On offers a twist on traditional sushi restaurants by providing counter-service dining with traditional sushi rolls as well as “Austin Fusion” rolls, like the Cholesta Roll (chicken fried steak dinner in a roll). Although the restaurant doesn't officially open until Thursday, we checked the place out early.
Everything was delicious, but I did have a few favorites:
Spicy Tunalicious Salad: It's not really that spicy, but it is really delicious.
California Crunch Roll: My Favorite!
Philly Roll: Usually I don't like cream cheese but, for this roll, I'll make an exception.

Guaca Roll: This was too spicy for me, but my friend loved it.
Cholesta Roll: This was a chicken fried steak dinner, complete with the mashers, all in one bite.
6) Amy's Fried Ice Cream: I don't know any other sushi bar in Austin that sells fried ice cream with a delicious strawberry and balsamic reduction! If you don't like sushi, the dessert alone makes a visit worthwhile!
Roll On Sushi Diner, opening Thursday, August 11 at 5350 Burnet Road, is definitely one of my new favorite spots in Austin — good food, great desert, affordable prices. Check them out on Facebook or at rollonsushidiner.com.
